Since 16 July 2024, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child has been incorporated into Scots law. Public authorities in Scotland are now legally required to act compatibly with the rights of every child and young person. For the first time, children can use Scottish courts to enforce them.
Rights are only useful if people know what they say.
